Separable Portion B - Toolakea Beach Road Water Main Replacement

This project involved the replacement of the existing DN200 AC water main that serviced Bluewater and Toolakea Beach, crossing from the southern side of the Bruce Highway to the northern side on the banks of Bluewater Creek.

The works consisted of the supply and construction of DN250/200 PVC pipe, DN315 PE and DN250 DICL water main with a combined length of 1164 meters, partly within a GRP Class 4 enveloper pipe micro-tunnelled under the North Coast Railway Line.  The leading edge technology used for the micro-tunnelling allowed for optimum precision, efficiency and safety. The crossing of Bluewater Creek was achieved using directional drilling under the creek to minimise any environmental impact.
