Separable Portion A - Percy Street Water Main Replacement

This project involved the supply and construction of a new water main located between Crauford Street (commencing at the Percy Street intersection) and along Henry Street, prior to crossing the Ingham Road and Queensland Rail (QR) corridor and connecting into an existing pipe on the southern side of the North Coast Railway Line.

It consisted of DN375 PVC and DN375 DICL water main with a total length of 1007.59 metres, partly within an enveloper pipe micro-tunnelled under Ingham Road and the North Coast Railway Line. The micro-tunnelling was achieved using state of the art technology to provide optimum precision, efficiency and safety.  To minimise the inconvenience to local residents and the general public, 748m of the new pipeline along Henry Street was also micro-tunnelled to provide a trenchless installation.
